| 01 | I was away from my computer for more than an hour. I carried the Remote with me and came back to the computer. The computer did not unlock itself. Then, I switched off and on the Remote to release the screen lock but that also didn’t work. Please advise. To effectively use Switch on / off function of remote, you must wait 1 to 2 seconds before switch on after switching off. Switch off the Remote and wait for 1 to 2 seconds then switch it on again. The Remote, when switched on, is programmed to go on Sleep mode after being 1 hour away from the computer to extend the battery life. |
| 02 | Should I pull out the USB dongle from the USB port whenever I switch off my computer? No, you do not need to do it, because the Screen Keeper is programmed to stop and restart the operation automatically in accordance with the Off and On mode of the Remote. |
| 03 | I left the Remote some other place and forgot to carry it with me. How shall I use my computer in this case? If your computer was switched off, switch on your computer. If the screen keeper has locked your computer, move your mouse. The Screen Keeper will be performing and the locked screen will be showing in your computer. Click on the left mouse button. The Pop-up of Screen Keeper will appear. Enter your password and press ‘Enter’ Key. The screen lock will be released. |

| 06 | Does my Screen Keeper have unique ID? Is it possible for different Screen Keepers to get confused with each other in an office environment with more than one person? Can my USB dongle and somebody else’s Remote cross interact to create confusion? Each pairing of Screen keeper is made with unique ID using the most advanced AES Encryption security. This makes it impossible for either the USB dongle or the Remote to interact out of a pair. |
| 07 | What are the recommended positions for the USB dongle to be plugged into the computer? • Notebook: Main USB port • Desktop PC: If your computer screen has USB port, use this USB port. If the screen does not have USB port, use the USB port of any attached USB hub. If no USB hub is connected, use desktop USB pot directly. In each case, make sure that the USB dongle is in line of sight line with the Remote. This ensures good working range of the Screen Keeper. |

| 09 | Will the screen always be locked if I carry the Remote and go out of sight, but still be within the effective distance or Radio Range of the Screen Keeper? Screen will be not locked all the times every time Remote is out of sight of the USB dongle. Because the remote may by be out of line of sight, but it may still be within the Radio Range of the Screen Keeper. The Screen Keeper uses 2.4Ghz wireless technology. 2.4GHZ waves will penetrate the objects between the USB dongle and the Remote and it may think that you are still within the range. |
| 10 | I installed Screen Keeper in my Computer and switched off the computer with the USB dongle still plugged in a USB port of my computer. And next day, I switch on my computer but the Screen Keeper doesn’t work. Please advise what is wrong? It seems that your computer does not recognize the Screen Keeper at the point of booting up. Either your computer is overloaded or your computer has insufficient memory and processing power required for the Screen Keeper. No. The screen keeper is produced only in pairing between the USB dongle and its remote using the most advanced encryption algorithm. In addition, when you buy a new Screen Keeper, you will need to delete the existing Screen keeper installation file and reinstall it by visiting web site www.screenkeeper.com. |
| 15 | What happens to the Screen Saver when the Screen Keeper is in operation? Once Screen Keeper is operational and it has locked the screen, the Screen Saver is disabled. But, while you are working on your computer with the remote near the USB dongle, Screen Saver provided by the Operating System will function normally. However, Power Saving Option of your computer is not disabled when Screen Keeper has locked your computer. |
